Content is based on and aligned to the CCDE Unified Topics but has the Core Technology List and most Areas of Expertise intertwined into the materials.

The course focuses on the following aspects of CCDE preparation and provides advanced network design tuition.

  • Choose the correct protocol and feature combinations to meet requirements.

  • Justifying "why" a certain solution, feature or protocol was chosen from the "core" or "expertise" technologie lists associated with the exam.

  • Developing solutions as a design team using our interactive design software.

  • Group discussions on complex network designs prepared by the instructor.

Various content, diagrams and practice exams will be made available for the student to keep after the course.

Course slides available in printed form upon request for a nominal fee (printing and postage), but these are also made available during and after the course on the learning platform whilst students have access.

Students are responsible for arranging travel, accommodation and meals.  Tea and coffee will be provided.

Frequently Asked Questions

More information about the course below based on the most common questions. Please contact us if you want to ask something else via training@mnbnetworks.tech

  • Who is the instructor?

Malcolm Booden, CCDE#20170037 is always the lead instructor, who will be responsible for all content delivery and development for this course.

  • How long is the course?

The course is 5 long but enjoyable consecutive days. Typically we will run 08:00 - 20:00 local time with breaks for meals as appropriate. We will finish earlier on the last day, normally around 12:00 noon.

  • How much does the course cost?

The course price is $4,995 USD which includes all materials and content that can be downloaded (does not include course slides although these are available on the platform during the course and for 18 months after the course). Printed slides can be provided at a small additional cost for printing and postage if ordered 30 days before. Travel and accommodation is not included which is the responsibility of the student.

  • What are the pre-requisites for this course?

This is an advanced course, targeted at experienced network designers who hold 7+ years experience in network engineering with a broad understanding in large enterprise and service provider environments. There is an expectation and assumption that students attending the course will have an understanding of most technologies in the Core Technology List associated with the CCDE exam as these will be discussed within scenarios assuming the students are familiar will all protocol operations prior to coming onto this course.

  • Is the course remote or in person?

This is in-person only because we believe the CCDE requires full attention of the students and they need to avoid distractions like work meetings, responding to emails and phone calls. The class is interactive and small, and therefore it is required for all students to be fully engaged to get the most out of the discussions and challenges.

  • What is the course structure?

Mix of lectures, design challenges (individual and team), CCDE practical scenario practice exams. We provide a blended learning experience which is made possible by our hosting solution where all content and materials are located.
